Superior quality SUN sand
Concrete made by poor sand (does not meet standard of particle size distribution for concrete sand, bad particle shape, high amount of filler dust) requires a lot of water to achieve a certain strength and slump, as well as high amounts of cement which results in high production costs. Typically it is said that the quality of manufactured sand is worse than that of natural sand. In other words, the production cost by using manufactured sand is more expensive than that by using natural sand.
SUN sand has high quality particle size distribution, excellent particle shape, and the small amount of filler dust. Therefore strength and slump of concrete made by natural sand with a similar amount of water.
In other words, the production costs of concrete made by SUN sand is the same as that of concrete made by using natural sand. So the quality of SUN sand is as high as natural sand.
1) Particle size distribution
SUN can practically achieve particle size distribution that meets the standard of manufactured sand for concrete in just one-pass, even by using various kinds of stones. In particular, the production of particles in the range from 0.3 to 0.15 mm (it is said that more is better when producing material for fresh concrete) is superior to other sand manufacturing systems.

1) By changing the rotating speed of EXR*’s hammers via a volume switch on the control panel.
*EXR (EXCELLENT REFINER) is an innovative sand manufacturing crusher. SUN is comprised of EXR and resourceful dust collector directly connected to EXR.
2) By adjusting the air volume of the resourceful dust collector via a volume switch on the control panel.
3) By setting change to the EXR‘s “rooster*”.
*The rooster is a grade bar type screen located at the discharge point of the grinding product within the crushing chamber.
So you can manufacture sand that meets the required standards and customers requirements consistently(you can manufacture sand that sells well). Furthermore, you can manufacture plaster sand that meets ASTM C 897 (American standard).

2) Solid volume percentage for shape determination
Solid volume percentage for shape determination is an important factor as it’s possible to reduce the amount of cement required which is the most expensive material when producing concrete. In other words, by using sand that is of high solid volume percentage for shape determination, it is possible to save on the production costs of concrete.
SUN can perform crushing and grain shape improvements at the same time. Improvement of solid volume percentage for shape determination using SUN allows for a higher numerical value than that of the Japan Industrial Standards.

3) Content of materials passing standard sieve 74μm (filler dust) in sand
To produce concrete, a large content of the materials passing standard sieve 74μm (filler dust) in sand needs a lot of water and cement, which is the most expensive material when producing concrete. The numerical value of Japan Industrial Standards regarding content of materials passing 74 μm standard sieve in fine aggregate by “decantation test” is less than 9%.
The typical amount of filler dust generated by SUN is only about 10 to 15%. And by use of the excellent design system for the removal of filler dust, SUN can achieve content of materials passing 74 μm standard sieve in sand product at less than 5%. This is made possible to save on the production costs of concrete.
